Writer and director Kevin Smith continues to defy the odds with his work and this time it's in TV land as his AMC show, Comic Book Men, has been renewed for a second season.

"Pinch my fat ass, cause [sic] I must be dreaming! A thousand thank yous wouldn't cover the gratitude I'm feeling right now," Smith said on AMC.com. "And as you might imagine, everyone at SModcast Pictures is in love with everyone at AMC today! Rest assured, Walt, Bry, Mike, Ming and I are suited up and ready to hit the ice for our second season with Team AMC."

The show, which was brilliantly aired right after The Walking Dead on Sunday nights, will get 16 new half-hour episodes in its second season. Comic Book Men follows the adventures of Smith's Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic book shop in Red Bank, New Jersey.
