With Iron Man 3 officially in production and shooting in North Carolina, this leads the rumor mill to start churning out more information about the next Marvel movie that follows Iron Man 3, Thor 2.

There has been speculation Thanos (we did have a theory posted about this idea that was picked up by E!Online, so this could be a direct result of our past article) could be seen in Thor 2, since Loki failed in acquiring the Tesseract for him in The Avengers, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige chimed in during an interview with Empire magazine.

"No, future, future," Feige said regarding Thanos not being in Thor 2 but being a bigger part of the Marvel movie future. "But there will be a major new villain [in Thor 2]. A major, major new antagonist..."

This new villain could indeed be The Enchantress, since this is another big rumor right now, but it has also been recently confirmed that actor Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre in Casino Royale) will be playing a villain in the new film. If you do the math, Mikkelsen could indeed be playing the right hand man of The Enchantress as The Executioner. But this is neither confirmed or denied by Marvel Studios as of right now.

Feige also told Empire a different side of Asgard will be seen and Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) will be back in the sequel as well.

"We’re going to see the other side of Asgard. It’s not all polished and golden in this film," Feige said. "And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster."

Sounds like a grittier Thor movie and what's not to like about that?! Stay tuned to SuperHero Authority and more info is made available about Thor 2.
