The Amazing Spider-Man is set to release in under three weeks and Sony's marketing for the new Spidey reboot is full steam ahead with clips, trailers and television spots a plenty.

After speaking with a Hollywood insider, who spoke with a few studio insiders at Sony competing studios, we here at SuperHero Authority can confirm other studios are ridiculously scared of this movie and that they think it could be Sony's biggest movie ever, when it hits theaters.

Our insider specifically said The Amazing Spider-Man might be heavy in advertising and marketing right now but the popular thought about the movie is one of "oh, it's a reboot already, meh." Sources have told us polls were cast for moviegoers' anticipation of this reboot and scores were average at best. However, this mentality has studios insiders saying Spidey's new film is just under-the-radar like when Batman Begins was rebooted several years ago.

When Batman Begins was set to hit the theaters there was some excitement but more reserved caution about a reboot of the Caped Crusader. But when it released, it received a ton of critical acclaim and word of mouth buzz to become a hit that spawned two sequels to make it a $1 billion-plus trilogy.

These insiders believe The Amazing Spider-Man is in that similar mold of Batman Begins' release but Sony is predicting Spidey will produce a ton more money than Batman Begins and could even produce more money than movies in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (not combined, of course).

Confused by any of this? We hope not but we'll clarify anyway in the following sentence.

Studios not named Sony are scared about this new movie and feel it could be a much bigger hit than any of Spider-Man's previous films, which is saying a lot since those movies made a ton of cash for Sony.

Sounds like this movie is trending to be the definitive Spider-Man film that will surprise and impress instead of disappointing fans and viewers this summer.
