Deadpool is one of the more popular Marvel characters who not many people know except from what they've seen of the character in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. Not the best Wade Wilson/Deadpool has been written despite actor Ryan Reynolds' portrayal of Wilson pre-the terrible Deadpool conversion in that movie.
The man also known as the Merc with a Mouth is known for his wacky behavior, having conversations with the other voice in his head and for being an extremely deadly assassin/mercenary.
Recent word out of 20th Century Fox is a Deadpool script is in the works right now and they are looking at an R-rated film for the anti-hero. He has walked the fine line of being an anti-hero in the comic book universe so it's tough to really say who the villain could be in his solo flick. Yet, we think this movie should explore Deadpool's origin and battle with cancer which made him the invincible assassin he is in comics today.
Focusing on his personal battle with the disease is a great way to get an audience to feel sympathy for the character and then when he is supposedly cured of his condition, things get out of hand and Deadpool becomes the crazy persona fans love him for. After the change, the focus could be the battle within himself and learning to deal with the other voice in his head while also realizing his near-immortal ability that gave him a disfigured look which he has to hide behind a mask.
This is just our opinion since making an anti-hero movie is something that has not been a success for Marvel with their recent attempts at making Ghost Rider into an R-rated anti-hero franchise after the Blade franchise was a hit.
Fans of Deadpool have the fingers crossed and crossed very tightly this movie is done the right way in a solo movie.
