Last week we were super lucky to be able to get one of the very first looks at the new Iron Man 3 suit at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con. The new suit has more gold than hot rod red this time around and there are mixed reviews about it nearly everywhere online.

After we posted photos of the new suit and tweeted it out, on our Twitter handle, almost immediately there was an outcry of both amazement and hate on Twitter. Rightfully so, since the new suit has a lot of gold. Seriously, a lot of it.

But fans who either love or hate the new suit need to remember one simple concept and that is Tony Stark is a tech-head and he is always trying to make his Iron Man suits better than the last one. This is more or less a representation of how real-life technology is always advancing and having new suits is something Marvel Studios has taken right out of the comic books and put onto the big screen. Every new movie that Iron Man is in, he gets a new suit.

According to footage seen at Comic Con last week, and not to give away any major SPOILERS here, Stark has a real mental connection with this new suit that has not been seen in any of the previous movies. This is in order to have more instinctual control while wearing the suit.

Getting back to the fan reaction to the new suit, the best example of the love-hate toward the new look is seen over on ComicBookMovie.com who closed out a recent poll asking fans their opinion of the new suit and the results could be considered to be a bit shocking.
